President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the founder and general superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry Pastor William Kumuyi on his 85th birthday.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his special adviser on information and strategy Bayo Onanuga, the president commended Pastor Kumuyi’s contributions to Christian ministry and his impact on believers in Nigeria and beyond.

“As the convener of Global Crusade with Kumuyi, your voice has reached beyond the church walls and national borders, bringing hope and encouragement to millions across the world,” President Tinubu said.

The president also praised Kumuyi’s writings, saying they have provided guidance to many people.

“Your writings have illuminated minds, inspired hearts, and provided timeless guidance to those seeking truth and purpose,” he added.

Tinubu noted that Kumuyi’s ministry has influenced individuals, families and leaders over the years.

“Your ministry and influence have transformed lives, restored families, inspired leaders, and strengthened the faith of generations of believers,” he said.

The president prayed for continued strength, health and peace for the cleric.

William Kumuyi was born on June 6, 1941, in Erin-Ijesha, Osun State. He founded Deeper Life Bible Church in 1973 as a fellowship for students at the University of Lagos, where he worked as a mathematics lecturer.

Over the years, the ministry has expanded to several countries, while Kumuyi has continued to lead evangelistic outreaches through the Global Crusade with Kumuyi.

He remains one of Nigeria’s longest-serving church leaders and has authored several Christian books and teaching materials.
