Yoruba actor Musiliu Ajikanle dead

Yoruba language film actor Musiliu Ajikanle, known by friends and fans as Buffalo, has died after a long-drawn battle with stroke.

Fellow actor Saliu Gbolagade, popularly known as Ogboluke, announced the death on Instagram and Facebook on Monday.

“Ina Lilah Waina Allah Rajiun.

“God gave each of us the gift of life, and God gifted us with eternal life.

“Rest well my dear friend Musiliu Ajikanle. Your footsteps can never be filled, nor your love ever forgotten

“May the blessings of a good life lived follow you into heaven,” Saliu wrote.

Musiliu’s death came two weeks after a cleric identified as Agbala Gabriel posted a video of the stricken actor on Facebook.

Gabriel also announced that three million naira had been raised for the actor.

In 2021, an Instagram account created in Musiliu Ajikanle’s name called on Nigerians at home and abroad for financial assistance to treat his stroke.

The messages posted by the Instagram account said he had been bedridden by stroke for four years.

None of his colleagues commented on the posts.

Actors like Faithia Williams, Binta Ayo Mogaji, Sola Kosoko and Olayinka Solomon have, however, mourned him following in his death.

“Allah. May his soul rest in peace. Sad,” Faithia Williams wrote in the comment section of Saliu Folagbade’s Instagram post announcing Musiliu Ajikanle’s death.

On her part, Binta Ayo Mogaji wrote “I spoke with him less than 2wks ago. He was supposed to send me his account number but he never did. What?????????”

Olayinka Solomon wrote “Haaaaaaaaaa innalillahi wainna ilaihi rojiun” while Sola Kosoko added “OMG. This is really sad. May His soul rest in peace.”
