What we know about Yul Edochie’s son’s death – Police

Lagos State Police Command has said that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death of Kambilinachukwu, son of actor Yul Edochie.

Spokesman of the command Benjamin Hundeyin told BBC Pidgin that the 16-year-old died on Thursday morning, March 30.

The boy’s aunt was quoted to have said he read throughout Tuesday night in preparation for his exam on Wednesday. After the exam, he joined his mates to play football and developed a seizure before being rushed to a hospital where was confirmed dead.

While the deceased’s grandfather, the legendary actor Pete Edochie has expressed sadness over the incident, his son Yul is yet to make a public statement on the tragic incident.

The news of the incident has shaken the movie industry and left hearts broken.

Hundeyin said Yul has reported the incident at a police station close to his residence and has written a statement about his son’s death.

The police spokesman also said investigation has commenced on the death of the teenager.

According to Hundeyin, by Friday, March 31, the matter would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.

“He just reported the case and we have begun investigation. By tomorrow (Friday) it will be transferred to state CID. We will investigate what killed the boy. They have to do an autopsy and know what happened to him,” he said.

“We can’t tell you what happened to him now until an autopsy is conducted, but the incident happened in the school.”
