Rapper and actor Illbliss has opened up about his journey to fatherhood, revealing that he and his wife waited eight years before welcoming their first child.
Speaking in an interview, the music star recalled how what seemed like a routine hospital visit turned into a life-changing moment for his family.
“The doctor said everything was fine, but my wife was pregnant. My wife broke down and I broke down as well. The doctor thought we didn’t want the baby, but he had no clue how long we had waited for that child,” he said.
Illbliss also spoke about the birth of their second daughter, whom he described as another miracle child. According to him, the baby was born prematurely during the COVID 19 pandemic after doctors allegedly advised them to terminate the pregnancy because she was not expected to survive.
“Doctors told us to flush and get rid of her because she wouldn’t make it, but we refused. We’re staunch Catholics. We believed God would come through, and God did come through,” he added.
The rapper said seeing both daughters healthy and thriving remains one of the greatest blessings of his life.
Illbliss, whose real name is Tobechukwu Ejiofor, married his wife Munachiso in 2009. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Sochikaima, in July 2017 after eight years of marriage.
In previous interviews, he revealed that he and his wife had considered adoption before discovering they were expecting their first child. He has also spoken about the emotional toll of the long wait and the joy that followed the birth of their children.
Known for his music career and his role as Odogwu Malay in King of Boys, Illbliss often shares reflections on family, faith and fatherhood. He and his wife are now parents to two daughters.
