Actress Toyin Abraham has denied reports alleging that she was responsible for the re-arrest of an X user known as Big Ayo.
The claim, which circulated on Tuesday, linked the actress to the alleged arrest following their online clash in 2024.
In a response shared online, Toyin described the report as untrue, stating that she had no involvement in any such action and was occupied with work at the time.
“Arrest Ayo as how, pls this is fake and false news. I’m on set filming. Pls kindly disregard. I didn’t get Ayo or anyone arrested; it’s all love from me. Thank you and I will advise to kindly take this down pls,” she stated.
The allegation stemmed from a now deleted post by an X user identified as Khan, who claimed that Big Ayo had “allegedly been arrested again” on Toyin’s orders. The post gained attention online and revived discussions about the actress’s past response to online trolling.
The development is linked to an incident in July 2024 when Toyin took legal action against individuals accused of cyberbullying her.
At the time, an X user named Jeffery alleged that the actress had his mother arrested over comments made on social media. He claimed she was taken from her shop to a police station for an offence he denied committing.
Toyin later clarified that it was not Jeffery’s mother who was arrested but his associate, Big Ayo. She accused Ayo of repeatedly targeting her with abusive posts and making offensive remarks about her family.
Reports from the period indicated that Ayo was picked up by law enforcement following complaints of cyberbullying and defamation after he allegedly shared offensive content about the actress and her family online.
