Tiwa Savage apologises for poor live performance

Tiwa Savage

Fans of Tiwa Savage are beginning to see beyond her sexy looks and energetic performance on social media and music video.

Time and again, the 37-year-old has been caught singing out of sync while lip-syncing during live performance.

It happened again on Thursday night at the One Africa Music Festival in Dubai where the mother-of-one was caught missing her cue while performing ‘Malo’ with Wizkid.

Mindful of the growing criticism of her live performance, Tiwa posted an apology on Instagram on Friday.

After blaming “pressure of the industry and the need to stand in the midst of so many difficulties that happen behind the scenes” for the loss of her “sweet voice”, the Mavin artiste promised her fans that she will change.

“I promise my savage soldiers that I will change and you will be proud to be a soldier. If you’ve got my back I won’t let you down EVER again,” she added.

Like Seyi Shay, who tripped at the All Africa Music Award (AFRIMA) on Sunday, Tiwa added a hashtag that says the devil is a liar.

I have so many people that love me and support me. I started this journey as a girl with a dream and sweet voice that captivated people, somewhere along the way that sweet voice was drowned by pressure of the industry and the need to stand in the midst of so many difficulties that happen behind the scenes. Nonetheless I have a job to do and by the grace of God I am learning to listen to my inner gut feeling and not succumb to outside voices I promise my savage soldiers that I will change and you will be proud to be a soldier. If you’ve got my back I won’t let you down EVER again #ForgiveMe #ItsALotHarderThanItLooks #ImJudgedHarderThanMost #ToWhomMuchIsGivenMuchMoreIsExpected #ImOnlyHuman #StarsFeelLowSometimesAsWell #DevilIsALiarThough #BringingMySweetVoiceBack #TheCalmBeforeTheStorm
