Presidential candidates Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi have commiserated with singer Davido and fiancee Chioma on the loss of their son Ifeanyi.

Davido’s only son Ifeanyi, whom he had with Chioma in 2019, allegedly drowned in a swimming pool at their Banana Island mansion in Lagos on Monday night.

Davido and Chioma were reportedly out on a function in Ibadan when the incident occurred.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Tinubu said, “Oluremi and I send our heartfelt and deepest condolences to David, Chioma, and the entire Adeleke family over the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May the Lord grant them the fortitude and strength to deal with this painful tragedy.”

Obi also prayed for comfort for the parents.

“I send my sincere condolences to Davido and Chioma, over the death of their son Ifeanyi. I cannot begin to imagine the pains they are going through at the moment. May God grant them healing, strength and comfort in this trying time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family,” he tweeted.

The police have begun questioning eight domestic workers placed over the care of the house before the incident.
