A former presidential aide Reno Omokri has commended President Bola Tinubu for publicly scolding his son Seyi Tinubu over his attendance at the weekly federal executive council (FEC) meeting.

Speaking before the commencement of the FEC meeting on Monday at the Presidential Villa, the president said he noticed that some people were sneaking in and out of the council chamber.

He warned that anyone not invited to the meeting should not be granted access.

“Last week I noticed the undue access of people sneaking in and out of this council, including… I saw the photograph of my son, Seyi, sitting behind… That is not acceptable,” Tinubu said.

The president said those granted exception to be present at the meeting are his special adviser on policy coordination, Hadiza Usman; special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga; principal private secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola; and private secretary, Damilotun Aderemi.

Reacting to this, Mr Omokri, who is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, wrote on social media: “Very impressed by the principles demonstrated by President Tinubu in this video.”
