Senior pastor of Fountain of Life Church in Lagos Taiwo Odukoya on Wednesday marked the first anniversary of his wife Nomthi’s death.

Odukoya lost Nomthi on November 9, 2021 following a two-year battle with cancer.

In an Instagram post, Odukoya said he was forever grateful for the moments he shared with her, noting that she would always be in his memory.

“You were truly a gift, never to be forgotten. I am forever grateful to God for the life we shared. I miss you Nomthi,” the clergyman wrote.

The church also commented on the anniversary on its Instagram page.

“We choose to remember your devout life of love, laughter and delightful worship of your Lord and Master, Jesus.

“We miss you our dear Pastor Nomthi Odukoya. Your memory is indeed blessed,” the church said.

Odukoya wedded Nomthi in January 2010, five years after his first wife Pastor Bimbo Odukoya died on December 11, 2005 from injuries sustained in a plane crash the previous day.

Nomthi, a South African, was laid to rest in a private cemetery on November 30, 2021 in the presence of members of the family, clerics and friends.

The funeral service which was held at Fountain of Life Church in the Ilupeju area of Lagos kicked off around 11:30am and ended by 1:00pm.

Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), who officiated the funeral service described Nomthi as an outstanding woman, prayerful wife, and one who smiled all the time.

Ashimolowo said she was a woman who carried her family wherever she went. “In fact, she was like Odukoya’s first wife,” he said.
