A judge of the Kano division of the Federal High Court Mohammed Yunusa has died after a brief illness.
The court announced his death in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by its director of information Catherine-Oby Christopher.
According to the statement, Justice Yunusa died on Thursday at the Kano State Medical Centre.
The court said he had since been buried in line with Islamic rites.
“Justice M. N. Yunusa was a distinguished jurist who served with dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the administration of justice,” the statement said.
The Federal High Court said his contributions to the bench and legal profession would be remembered by colleagues, lawyers, court staff and others who worked with him.
“The Chief Judge, judges, management, and staff of the Federal High Court extend their heartfelt condolences to his immediate family.
“We pray that Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus,” the statement added.
