The police in Abuja have arrested social media influencer Amanda Chisom over her involvement in Chinmark, a company said to be into real estate, logistics, hospitality, and food.

Qed.ng reported earlier in March that many of the investors took to social media to attack the chief executive and chairman of Chinmark Group, Marksman Ijiomah, over unpaid funds invested in the company despite many deadlines given for refund.

The investors also criticised the brand ambassadors Chisom and Harrison Gwamnishu.

The company is linked to ₦50 billion Ponzi scheme.

A lawyer Chukwudi Iwuchukwu posted to social media a video of Chisom arriving the office of Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja on July 19.

Mr Iwuchukwu claimed the police got a court order for her detention.

Iwuchukwu wrote, “Chisom was actually picked up on Tuesday morning, July 19, from her residence by a team of crack detectives, after her arrival from her foreign vacation trip.

“It is possible that she would be detained for a long time based on court order procured by the victims of the Chinmark’s heist that she was part of.

“Chisom has been singing like a canary bird about what she knows about the N50 billion stolen by Chinmark, and herself, from innocent retail investors.

“She would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation by the crack team of detectives currently interrogating her.”

As of press time, the police had yet to release a statement on her arrest.
