See Fayose addressing Chinese ‘business community’

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State is currently in China for the country’s 119th Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, according to a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka.

And to prove that the governor is not snoozing while President Muhammadu Buhari, who is also in China, goes about “selling Nigeria” to the Chinese, Olayinka on Friday posted some pictures ostensibly showing his boss addressing a business community.

“Fayose at the Multinationals Sourcing Service Centre, PAzhou Trade Complex, Guangzhou, China, addressing Chinese business community on the need to support and empower Nigeria majorly in technological transfer as a trade partner without over committing an ailing economy like ours,” Olayinka wrote.

The governor on Tuesday wrote  later to the Chinese government demanding that the Asian country should not grant the $2bn loan being sought by the Federal Government

Of course, Twitter has been reacting to Fayose’s latest drama series.

Olayinka had earlier justified Fayose’s trip to China, saying it was different from that of the President because Buhari’s trip was aimed at borrowing $2 billion, while the governor would use his to secure partnership with prospective Chinese investors and technical experts without committing the state to any loan.

He later wrote: “When you have a president who speaks to Nigerians through foreign countries, it is better to also address him through foreign countries.”
