Singer Qing Madi has accused her former record label, JTon Music, of removing one of her songs from Spotify.
The 19-year-old made the claim on her Instagram story on Tuesday, alleging that the label is trying to frustrate her career.
She said the situation reminded her of the past dispute involving Cynthia Morgan.
Madi alleged that the label took down ‘Pepper Me,’ her song featuring Zinoleesky and KFMD, because of its strong performance on the platform. She also claimed that the label had previously sued her for one million dollars and lost.
“Lol my ex label the same people that tried to destroy Cynthia Morgan Are trying to do same to me,” she wrote.
“It’s paining you that I didn’t give up even after suing me for 1 million dollars and loosing your case.
“I don’t come on the internet to complain ever nobody knew this one before, all I do is keep pushing my music. Now this babe took down kfmd record from Spotify, because of how well it was doing.
“I’ll resolve it don’t worry, the song will be up again.”
The singer said she does not usually speak about issues online and prefers to focus on her music.
“Just because I choose to keep quiet don’t mean I care about protecting your image,” she said.
“I just want to do music, that’s all, I’m 19 years old bro, let me be.”
She also tagged the label in a post, writing, “@joytongo Leave me alone !!!”
As of press time, the label has not responded to the allegations.
Madi gained attention in 2022 after releasing her debut single ‘See Finish,’ which became popular on social media. She later signed a record deal with JTon Music before their relationship broke down.
Following her exit from the label, she continued to release music independently and built a growing fan base. In January 2025, she released her debut album ‘I Am the Blueprint,’ which further established her presence in the Afrobeats scene.
