Music artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has apologised to the organisers of the Headies Awards.

The singer made the apology in an Instagram post on Thursday, urging his fans to keep voting despite his disqualification as a nominee in the 15th edition.

“Headies make una no vex. Them say make I change alamba. Keep voting, keep voting Headies Awards. God bless you. God bless all those people wey they show me Love. Keep voting Zazu fans,” he said.

Portable’s disqualification was made known in a statement published on Instagram on Tuesday, July 2.

Headies noted that the 27-year-old had garnered negative attention from the Nigeria Police and the general public.

The statement added that the decision to disqualify the singer was also due to claims he founded the notorious gang known as One Million Boys.

The organisers also pointed at the criminal investigations carried out by the police over the singer’s recent misdemeanours.

Portable was nominated in the ‘Rookie of the Year’ and ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’ categories.
