Police to question BNXN over assault on officer

Buju

The Lagos State Police Command has reacted to singer BNXN’s statement about spitting on a police officer during a confrontation.

Qed.ng reported that in a video that went viral on Wednesday, the music artiste formerly known as Buju, was seen exchanging words with some policemen who highjacked his car.

The singer in a now deleted tweet said he spat at one of the officers and it felt good.

He tweeted: “Spat at a police officer’s face and it felt so good. I let you into my car and you dragged and tear my shirt and start slapping me? Nah everybody must stop.”

Reacting to the tweet moments after, Lagos police command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the police officers involved will be sanctioned for their misbehavior.

He, however, stated that if Buju is guilty on the other hand, he will answer for assaulting an officer.

He wrote: “BNXN proudly tweeted that he spat in [sic] a police officer’s face and it felt so good. He has since deleted the tweet. The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while Buju ‘BNXN’ will surely answer for his assault on a police officer.”
