Pius Adesanmi, Bisi Silva to receive tributes at iREPRESENT International Documentary Film Festival

Writer and literary critic, Pius Adesanmi, and art curator, Bisi Silva, will receive tributes at the 2019 edition of the iREPRESENT International Documentary Film Festival (iREP).

This was announced in a statement released by the organisers of the festival.

Pius Adesanmi and Bisi Silva are among a group of highly distinguished Nigerians who will receive tributes at the film festival.

Pius Adesanmi was confirmed dead in the Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET 302 from Addis Ababa to Nairobi that crashed on Sunday.

His death led to an outpouring of emotions across social media.

Bisi Silva died at the age of 57 in February.

Her death was announced by her sister, Joke Silva, via an emotional post on Instagram.

Others who would receive tributes include film historian and critic, Professor Frank Ukadike; visual arts curator, Okwui Enwenzor and theatre artiste and prolific TV drama scriptwriter, Paul Emema.

The iREPRESENT International Documentary Film Festival would hold from Thursday March 21 to Sunday March 24 2019 at Freedom Park, Lagos.

iREPRESENT International Documentary Film Festival is the prime film festival  on  the coast of West  Africa.

Since 2011, the  festival  has  brought together stakeholders and moviemakers from Nigeria and other parts of the world to showcase their works and share experience and perspectives on their processes.
