Former presidential candidate Oby Ezekwesili and journalist Kadaria Ahmed on Wednesday joined other Nigerians in paying tributes to the late Nigerian-born Canadian professor and writer Prof. Pius Adesanmi.

Adesanmi died on March 10, 2019 following the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET302.

The airline which took off from Addis Ababa was heading to Nairobi in Kenya.

Fondly calling him ‘Peeooo’, Mrs Ezekwesili said in a tweet that the literary icon is not to be forgotten.

“It is indeed 2 years since the passing of our brother @pius_adesanmi. How time flies but for those dearest to us the wound of death never entirely heals because the heart never really closes the hole of their absence,” she said.

“Peeooo is #NeverToBeForgotten. Rest on dearest one.”

Ms Ahmed described Adesanmi as a stellar personality.

She wrote on Twitter: “#PiusAdesanmi 27 Feb 1972 – 10th March 2019.

“Friend and all round stellar Human Being. We miss you.”

Others have taken to Twitter to celebrate the life of Adesanmi.
