Founding pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Matthew Ashimolowo on Wednesday celebrated his wife Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo on her birthday.

Ashimolowo, 71, penned a note on Instagram which was also shared on the church’s Instagram page to celebrate Mrs Ashimolowo.

The cleric said she was worthy of double honour, and prayed that her labour of love would be rewarded with uncountable blessings.

The post read, “Today, Wednesday 27th September, KICC celebrates Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo’s birthday!

“We pray that her labour of love will be rewarded with uncountable blessings, in Jesus’ name.

“In line with the Word of God in 1 Timothy 5:17, Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo is worthy of double honour.

“Let us celebrate Pastor Yemisi, by showing her our love and appreciation.”

In August, Ashimolowo and his wife clocked 42 years in marriage. They are blessed with children and grandchildren.

Mrs Ashimolowo is a resident pastor of KICC Walthamstow, London and head of KICC Winning Women Ministry.

In a 2014 interview with City People, she said she never envisaged marrying a pastor especially as she was the daughter of a pastor.

“Marrying a pastor was the last thing on my mind. Because my dad is a pastor and as a pastor’s daughter, I dreaded marrying a pastor. My dad has two brothers who are pastors also but of different denominations. I never really wanted to marry a pastor but God knows the plans He has for our lives,” she said.
