A protest has erupted at Otto modern market in Oyingbo, Lagos against the leadership of the Iyaloja general of Nigeria Folasade Tinubu-Ojo.

Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu, is reported to have locked the gate to the plaza over complaints of trading in an untidy environment.

It was alleged that she also imposed a fine of N5million on the traders after giving an ultimatum of two days for the traders to clean up the market.

The traders, it was gathered, began protesting on Wednesday when many of them forcefully entered the premises and discovered their perishable goods were no longer edible.

“People are here protesting seriously against the spoilt items and the N5million fine she is insisting we have to pay. We are going round the whole complex with the DPO right now. We are hoping that Folashade will give approval for the proper opening of the place because it was forcefully opened by angry traders,” one of the traders told Sahara Reporters.
