Osmond Gbadebo’s memories will never fade, Olayinka Solomon pays tribute after burial

Actress Olayinka Solomon has paid an emotional tribute to actor and filmmaker Osmond Gbadebo weeks after the latter’s burial.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, June 12, Olayinka posted a movie she shot with the deceased, applauding him for a job well done.

The Yoruba movie star added that Osmond was in a better place and his memories will never fade.

She wrote: “Osmond osmond thanks for all you did…May ur soul rest in peace…you really did a great job when filming O.B.O(OMO BABA OLOWO) I believe you are in a better place and ur memories will never Fade Amin.”

Osmond Gbadebo was buried at the Atan Cemetery in Lagos.

The 45-year-old who died on May 30, was buried on Saturday, June 4.

Actress Wumi Toriola, who was present at the funeral, could not hold back her tears as she wept bitterly over the tragic demise of the actor.

Speaking with Qed TV at the burial, actor Jide Awobona described Osmond as a blunt and playful person. He noted that the deceased was someone that everyone wanted to associate with.

President of The Golden Movie Ambassadors Association of Nigeria, Saidi Balogun, who also spoke to Qed TV, described Osmond as one with a golden heart. The TGMAAN president also revealed that Osmond died of diabetes.

According to veteran actor Yemi Solade, Osmond battled a terminal ailment for years before he finally died, while actress Zainab Bakare who could not hold back her tears over the sudden demise of her friend and colleague said the actor died in his birth month and two weeks after his daughter’s birth.

Reacting to the tragic loss, in an Instagram post on Tuesday, another actress Regina Chukwu pointed out that waking up to the news of Gbadebo’s demise was the hardest thing she ever had to deal with in recent times.

The mother of two recollected praying for the actor who told her that the worst part was over and she should be thanking God on his behalf.

Gbadebo was famous for movies such as Ewon Ife, Queen Lateefat, Edunjobi and Hired Killer.
