Obasanjo was a worse dictator than Abacha — Oshiomhole

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, says that former President Olusegun Obasanjo was a worse dictator than military ruler, Sani Abacha.

Mr Oshiomhole said this in an interview with Channels TV.

The APC head was reacting to a recent statement which Obasanjo made about how President Muhammadu Buhari had returned Nigeria to an era of highhandedness.

Mr Obasanjo had said: “Today, another Abacha Era is here. The security institutions are being misused to fight all critics and opponents of Buhari and to derail our fledgeling democracy.”

Oshiomhole, however, disagreed with the former president, calling him a worse dictator than Abacha.

“Obasanjo can’t look me in the eyes and say those things, he is a worse dictator, he was worse than Abacha,” he said.

On the travails of the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, he said: “You can’t fight corruption selectively, Onnoghen should spare the Judiciary the trauma.”
