Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, says he has defended the Nigerian jollof rice before Senegalese musician, Akon.
Akon had recently claimed that his country’s jollof rice was tastier than the Nigerian recipe.
The deputy governor met with Akon on Thursday at GoogleforNigeria event where he said he defended the Nigerian jollof rice.
He also said the state was excited about its role in building the African digital ecosystem.
“I defended the honour of our darling #NigerianJollofRice against @Akon & his blasphemy about #SenegaleseJollofRice at the #GoogleforNigeria event. Congratulations to @GoogleAfrica for the event. We are excited about the role Lagos plays in building the African digital ecosystem,” Hamzat tweeted.
