President Bola Tinubu returned to Lagos on Friday evening after visits to France, Kenya and Rwanda, where he held meetings on economic reforms, investment and regional cooperation.
According to a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the president arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at about 7:12 p.m.
He was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa and other government officials.
During his stay in France, President Tinubu met with investors and spoke about his administration’s economic reforms, transparency and fiscal discipline.
In Nairobi, the president attended the Africa Forward Summit co-hosted by France President Emmanuel Macron and Kenya President William Ruto.
At the summit, Tinubu called for reforms in the global financial system and urged stronger economic integration across Africa.
He also spoke about Nigeria’s blue economy and pledged to make the country’s maritime intelligence infrastructure available to Gulf of Guinea countries willing to partner with Nigeria.
While in Nairobi, the president also held talks with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina.
In Kigali, Rwanda, Tinubu attended the Africa CEO Forum alongside African leaders, investors and business executives.
He also met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and held separate meetings with delegations from International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals and Winme Group.
According to the presidency, the meetings focused on investment and economic cooperation.
