Nigeria shall overcome, Sanwo-Olu rallies support for Tinubu

Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu and security agencies following recent security incidents in parts of the country.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Governor Sanwo-Olu said Nigerians must remain united and not allow acts of violence to weaken their confidence in the country.

“We are Nigerians. Our will is strong and our spirit is unbreakable,” he said.

The governor urged citizens to put aside political differences and support efforts to address insecurity.

“The forces of evil confronting our nation do not ask for our political affiliation before they kill, maim and destroy. So must our resolve and support for our nation be devoid of political leanings and divisive rhetorics,” he stated.

Sanwo-Olu expressed concern over the abduction of teachers and students in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State and called for prayers for the victims and their families.

He said every life lost to violence was a tragedy and stressed the need for solidarity with affected communities.

The governor also urged citizens to cooperate with security agencies through vigilance and intelligence sharing.

“Government alone cannot win this battle without the support, cooperation, vigilance, and active intelligence sharing by the local communities,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and the ability of security and intelligence agencies to tackle security threats across the country.

He noted that efforts to improve security, strengthen intelligence gathering and confront criminal networks require patience and support from citizens.

The governor also praised members of the armed forces and other security personnel for their role in protecting lives and property.

“This battle shall be won. Nigeria will prevail because the collective strength of our people is greater than the agenda of the few who are bent on making us live in fear and despair,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to peace, unity and national development.
