Mr Macaroni reacts to gas explosion in Kano

Comedian turned actor Debo Adedayo popularly known as Mr Macaroni has reacted to the gas explosion on Tuesday May 17 in Kano State.

Reacting to the explosion, the comedian took to his Twitter page to offer his condolences to the families of the victims, pointing out that if the explosion happened due to a bomb attack, Kano residents should speak up.

He wrote: “My heart goes out to the families of those feared dead in the Explosion at the Sabon Gari area of Kano state. Multiple reports confirm that it was a gas cylinder that caused the explosion. May our Land be healed. Cause o ti su mi mhen.

“See, those of you in Kano, only you can speak your truth. Louder voices from Kano have said this was a gas explosion. If this was indeed a bomb attack, you all need to be crying and screaming!!! We sef go help una shout!! But you can’t be quiet and expect magic from us.”

Reacting to Mr Macaroni’s tweet, a tweep identified as Ndubisi wrote: “Sponsored voices said is a gas explosion. Logic needs no loud noise. Reason am.”

“I pity you!! You don’t know the country you are in. Be waiting for logic while louder voices are changing your narrative. Logic dey sleep and snore for Nigeria while louder voices dey do the work!! Reason am,” the comedian replied.

Another Twitter user Umar Bello who also tackled Mr Macaroni wrote: “It appears you want it to be a bomb explosion. What more do you need after official announcement? Please we don’t need your help shouting!”

Responding to the tweet, Mr Macaroni replied: “Nawa!!One is fighting me because I shared the official report that said it was a gas explosion… another one is here fighting me for telling the people in Kano to speak up if it was indeed a bomb blast.”

Kano State commissioner of police Samaila Dikko said in a broadcast that gas exploded at a welding point near a primary school on Aba Road in Sabon Gari area.

According to him, rescue workers are making efforts to discover people trapped at the building where the explosion occurred.

Dikko urged residents of the state to remain calm, adding that the situation was under control.

The explosion, which occurred near Winners Kids Academy, resulted in damage to some buildings in the area.
