Mercy Johnson, Tacha, Caroline Danjuma, Adunni Ade react to death of Dowen College student

Sylvester Oromoni Dowen College

Actresses Mercy Johnson, Tonto Dikeh, Caroline Danjuma, Adunni Ade, and Big Brother Naija season 4 housemate Tacha on Friday called for justice for Sylvester Oromoni, the 12-year-old boy who died after allegedly being attacked by his senior colleagues at Dowen College, Lagos.

Mercy Johnson said on Instagram that she cannot imagine the pain the boy felt before his death.

“I could not bring myself to post the video, I haven’t even been able to watch it twice. I can’t imagine the pain this child felt, I cannot imagine. Sylvester’s life cannot be in vain, he cannot go like that,” she said.

Tonto Dikeh said that parents cannot send their children to school to be great only for them to end up six feet below.

“Dear Dowen College, I have been informed, I am coming… I am gathering all the facts and history of this misfortune together, then we will talk… Don’t go no where, our children can’t go to school to be great and end up 6 feet below. God forbid, that’s not why we trust SCHOOLS,” the mother of one wrote.

Caroline Danjuma declared that the parents of the children accused should provide them to face the law.

Adunni Ade said that proper investigations and questioning should begin.

“Absolutely barbaric! I hope the law doesn’t waste much time in doing the needful. I hope a proper investigation has started. I hope these other children have been detained and are being questioned. I hope the school has been shut down while all this goes on. May his soul Rest In Peace. I read one of the students allegedly accused jumped the fence. In a secondary school? This is shocking! This is just too sad. Rest on Sylvester,” she wrote.

Tacha said she was devasted by the incident and demanded investigation.

“I am devastated… I just want to know what the next cause of action is because we cannot keep letting serious issues like this be swept under the carpet NO… This case needs to be investigated as soon as possible… WHERE ARE THE LEGAL PRACTITIONERS? WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO BE TAKEN? WHAT EXACTLY DO WE NEED TO DO?” she said.
