A middle-aged man, Kula Adasu, has died by suicide in Benue State over the controversial death of his brother.

Mr Adasu’s body was found on Tuesday hanging on a tree in Tse Agabaragba, headquarters of the Konsisha Local Government Area of the state.

According to The PUNCH, the extended family members had accused him of killing Terseer Adasu.

Terseer was said to have died in Makurdi, Benue State capital early July and is to be buried on August 5.

A family source told the newspaper that the extended family had held a meeting and concluded that they would consult a soothsayer on Tuesday to find out who was responsible for Terseer’s death.

Adasu, who was married with children, did not leave a suicide note behind.

Benue police spokesperson, Catherine Anene, has confirmed the incident.
