Lanre Shittu Motors confirms chairman’s death

Automobile company Lanre Shittu Motors has confirmed the death of its founder and chairman Olanrewaju Shittu.

Mr Shittu died on Sunday at the age of 65.

A statement posted on the company’s social media pages read: “It is with deep sadness but with submission to the will of God that we announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather, and Chairman Great Leader: Alhaji Rasak Akanni Olanrewaju Shittu who passed away on February 27, 2023.

“Alhaji Rasak Akanni Olanrewaju Shittu, founder and CEO of @lanreshittumotors was a beloved member of our lives and family and his loss will be deeply felt by many.

“We recognize that this is a painful and challenging moment for us and everyone who knew and loved him. We ask that you respect the privacy of the Lanre Shittu family during this difficult time, and allow the space we need to grieve this great loss.”

Although the company said the auto magnate died on the 27th, a statement from his family said he died on the 26th.

“With deep sense of shock but gratitude to Almighty Allah for a life well spent, we announce the death of an industrious son, husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend, Alhaji Abdul-Razaq Olarenwaju Shittu.

“Aged 65 (Jan.8 1958-Feb.26 2023),” the statement said.

Shittu will be buried on Tuesday at the Vaults & Gardens Cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos.

An eighth days Fidau (prayer) will be on Tuesday, March at a yet-announced venue.

The socialite is survived by an aged mother, wives, children, grandchildren and in-laws.
