The publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State Tunde Ashaolu has passed on hours after celebrating his party.
It was gathered that Mr Ashaolu died on Sunday evening.
He was together with former Senate President Bukola Saraki and former chairman, Ekiti Local Government Area in Kwara, Akintoba Fatigun, who is also Saraki’s senior political adviser, over the weekend.
Saraki hosted both of them in Abuja as they both share same birthday.
The ex-Senate President had also celebrated Ashaolu on Instagram.
“I congratulate Mr. Tunde Ashaolu, the extraordinarily dedicated and exemplarily fearless Kwara State PDP Publicity Secretary, as he celebrates another year!” he wrote.
“May Almighty God continue to give you strength and courage as you work for our party, our state, and the nation!”
Confirming Ashaolu’s death in a Facebook post, a friend and colleague of the deceased, Billy Adedamola, wrote on Sunday: “We lost this evening, a friend and brother, Tunde Ashaolu, Kwara state publicity secretary of PDP. He marked his birthday yesterday in Abuja where he was celebrated by the former President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki and today he has gone to meet his creator. Tunde was a loyal, dedicated and hard-working party man. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.”
