Seidu-Adeyemi killer of ex-Ondo deputy governor's daughter

Seidu Adeyemi, killer of daughter of former deputy governor of Ondo State, Khadijat Oluboyo, has been sentenced to death by hanging.

Mr Adeyemi, who was arraigned last July, was sentenced on Wednesday by an Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure.

Until her death, Khadijat was a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba Akoko (AAUA).

After killing her for a money ritual purpose, Adeyemi buried Khadijat inside his room at Aratusi, Oke-Aro area of Akure, for six days.

Justice Samuel Bola said that the prosecution had established that Adeyemi, a graduate of Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), committed the offence he was charged for.

The judge also held that by criminal law, the convict had committed a capital offence requiring death by hanging.

The prosecution led by State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kola Olawoye, said the verdict was victory for the state.
