Kidnapped Lebanese engineer found dead in Kano

The police in Kano on Friday said it had found the remains of a Lebanese engineer who was kidnapped while working at a construction site in the state.

An employee of Triacta Construction Company, the expatriate was working on the underpass bridge at Dangi roundabout by Zoo Road when he was kidnapped on Tuesday at about 7:40am.

The assailants, numbering about four, shot his driver in cold blood, killing him in the process.

Kano police spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna, said the corpse was found on Thursday under the Zaria road bridge.

The body has been deposited at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.

Mr Haruna said the expatriate’s relatives have been contacted and plans are in place to move his body to Lebanon for burial.

He also added that investigation into the incident had begun to apprehend those behind the killing.
