Kemi Adetiba confirms Qed.ng report, announces new movie

Eight months after an exclusive report by Qed.ng, Nigerian filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba, has officially announced that she is working on a new movie.

She made the announcement on Monday to coincide with her 38th birthday.

This online newspaper had reported in May 2017 that the former Soundcity presenter was working on a project tentatively titled The King is Coming.

It followed revelation that she would not be directing the sequel to her feature film debut, The Wedding Party, which opened the City to City spotlight on Lagos at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2016.

Posting on Instagram on Monday, Kemi wrote: “So the worst kept secret is that I have a new film coming out this year called ‘King of Boys’. YES… It’s time.”

The announcement comes with an offer to gives some of her followers cameo appearance in the movie.

Before The Wedding Party, Kemi had made a name as a music video and TV director.

The daughter of advertising and broadcasting legend, Dele Adetiba, she studied law at the University of Lagos and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy (NYFA).
