Ivorian singer, DJ Arafat, assaults male fan who hugged him on stage

A video has surfaced online of Ivorian singer, DJ Arafat, assaulting a male fan who came on stage and allegedly insulted the ‘Coupe Decale’ singer’s mother.

The former disk jockey, whose real name is Arafat Muana, had reportedly organised a free concert for his fans in collaboration with Trace TV to celebrate his birthday when the embarrassing incident happened.
In the video, DJ Arafat was performing with his band when an unidentified fan jumped on stage to give the singer a hug. DJ Arafat hugged him back at first but grew violent after the fan jumped on him and crossed his legs on his body.

The angry singer pushed the fan to the ground and stomped him with his foot before his security men rough handled the helpless fan and threw him off the stage. DJ Arafat posted the video on social media and wrote in French that he attacked the fan because he insulted his mother.

“Must not insult my mother, come and take the point with me,” the caption loosely translated to English read.

Fans of the 30-year-old have however termed the act as ‘rude’ and unbecoming of a popular figure.
