Ikoyi building: Dapo Abiodun visits Femi Osibona’s father

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has paid a condolence visit to Emmanuel Osibona father of the late real estate developer Femi Osibona.

Mr Osibona died after a 21-storey building he was constructing collapsed on Gerrard Road in Ikoyi area of Lagos on November 1.

In a Facebook post, Mr Abiodun revealed he visited the bereaved family on Sunday.

“Last night, I paid a condolence visit to the Baba Ijo of Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Ikenne, Chief Emmanuel Osibona, who is the father of late Olufemi Adegoke Osibona.

“Mr Olufemi, who was the owner of Fourscore Homes, passed away, having been trapped in the collapsed 21-storey Ikoyi building.

“I commiserate with Baba over the unfortunate incident and pray God grant him and the entire family the fortitude to bear this sad and irreparable loss,” the post read.

Osibona’s body was recovered two days after the tragic incident which has raised questions about the state’s efficiency in quality control in real estate.

About 44 bodies have been recovered from the site as of Sunday including that of Osibona’s friend Wale Bob-Oseni who got caught up in the incident after making a stop at the building on his way to the airport.

Osibona was well known in the social circle as the owner of Fourscore Homes.
