Ibinabo Fiberesima congratulates Omotola on honorary doctorate degree

Actress and former president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima, has congratulated fellow actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, on receiving a honorary doctorate degree from Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State.

Omotola was conferred the Honorary Doctor of Arts degree on Saturday during the institution’s 17th convocation ceremony.

Sharing a photograph of Omotola in the institution’s convocation gown on Instagram on Monday, Ibinabo called her a ‘trailblazer’.

“Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, you have always been a trailblazer, a cognate professional and someone to inspire and admire by all. I love your can-do spirit, passion for breaking the paradigm and your advocacy against gender discrimination is a motivation for me. It came as no surprise thus, your recent conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Art by the Igbinedion University. It is thoroughly deserved. I appreciate you and further wish you more years of immense feats. Congratulations sister!” she said.

Born in Lagos, Omotola, an indigene of Ondo State, grew up in a family of five: her parents and two younger brothers – Tayo and Bolaji Jalade.

She had a brief stint at Obafemi Awolowo University and completed her studies in Estate Management at Yaba College of Technology in 2004.
