Singer Dotman has expressed deep regret over his decision to relocate to the United States, revealing that he has not seen his children in about two years.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram on Friday, the ‘Akube’ singer said he has been silently battling emotional struggles since moving abroad.
“Today I regret ever deciding to leave Nigeria and move to the USA,” he wrote.
“I have been struggling so much in silence. Haven’t seen my kids for about two years now. I am grateful to God that I am alive still but I wish I never moved out here honestly.”
Dotman, born Olatunji Alade, did not share further details about his children or what led to the prolonged separation. However, his message has sparked reactions from fans and followers who sympathised with his situation and offered words of encouragement.
The singer gained fame in 2016 with his hit single ‘Akube’ and followed up with songs like ‘My Woman,’ ‘Afro Girl,’ ‘Feelings’ and ‘Enugbe.’
In 2021, he released his debut album Hakuna Matata under his label 808 Records.
Dotman studied Physics Education at the University of Lagos before fully diving into music. In recent years, he has been based in the United States, where he continues to pursue his music career.
