Comedian Onyebuchi Ojieh, popularly known as Buchi, has reunited with his daughter in an emotional scene, nearly two years after he accused his ex-wife Rukky and her parents of denying him access to his children.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday, the girl is seen running into her father’s arms before they embraced tightly. The comedian held her close and appeared emotional in the heartwarming reunion.

He captioned, “Grateful everyday .. truly blessed ,My baby came all the way from the U.S by herself to see me in Canada .. ❤️❤️❤️”

In November 2023, Buchi called out Rukky and her parents on social media for allegedly preventing him from seeing their two children.

“Mr and Mrs Salami… If someone took Josh & Daniella after all you went through… Una go survive am? I want access to my kids,” he wrote in one post.

In another, he accused them of asking him to pay money just to speak with the children.

“They are asking for $1,300 to allow phone conversations. They should make do with the N300,000 I send monthly,” he said.

He also stated that he had never been abusive and accused his ex-in-laws of taking the children abroad without his consent.

“They were forcefully taken away and I have never been abusive or violent. I only heard of their travel abroad after it was done,” Buchi said.

In December 2023, he shared an update, announcing that he had finally been granted access to the children.

“I have been granted full access to my kids… we better in all things… THANK YOU EVERYONE!! The good, the bad, the ugly… Thank u the SALAMIS, mama Azmin… Engr ISEDE #1 grandpa… ❤️❤️ Update dropping soon #eruditelawlord soon come,” he wrote on Instagram.

The reunion marks a significant turnaround in what had been a tense custody situation between the comedian and his ex-wife’s family.

Buchi and Rukky got married in 2017 and welcomed two children together. Their marriage reportedly broke down in 2022. Following the split, Buchi began to speak out publicly about being denied access to his children, leading to a wave of online support and media coverage.
