Actor Ayo Olaiya has issued a heartfelt apology to his wife for prioritising work over their vacation time in the United Kingdom.
Ayo took to Instagram on Thursday to share a photo of himself with his wife and acknowledged that he should have been focused on their holiday, but instead got carried away with a movie project.
“When you find it difficult to apologize when you’re wrong or the word SORRY seems the hardest to say, then you have a blotch in your character,” he wrote.
“As for me, I will not justify my shortcomings. Instead, I will use this moment to apologize to my beautiful wife for allowing my work to deny her the pleasure of my presence when she came to the UK to enjoy my holiday with me. Adunni mi, I am sorry. Babe, please forgive me. Ise aje lo so omo nu bi oko. Holiday pada di movie premiere.”
The apology comes months after Olaiya was surprised by the same wife on a movie set last year with a brand new car gift, an emotional gesture that left the actor speechless and full of gratitude to her and to God.
Ayo Olaiya’s love life has occasionally drawn public attention. A few years ago, he raised eyebrows after unveiling a mystery lover on social media while describing the person as “an Angel who had lightened his world and completed his heart.”
In another incident, the actor had to clear the air about his relationship with fellow actress Olaide Oyedeji. He addressed speculations linking him to the actress’s marital woes, stating unequivocally that he had no romantic involvement with her.
“The married actor made it known that he doesn’t have anything intimate going on with Laide and his creator can bear him witness,” he clarified.
