Hoodlums disrupted a town hall meeting hosted by Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, at the Indoors Pavilion Sport of Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) at Oshodi on Monday.

The senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District was meeting with artisans, market women and physically challenged people within the district.

The meeting, which ended abruptly, also had in attendance members of Community Development Associations (CDAs) and leaders of Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa communities.

The hoodlums stormed the meeting in the middle of the programme according to reports.

“The hoodlums, disturbed by their inability to get money from the lawmaker, opened fire into the air in the presence of the men of the Mobile Police Force.

“But for the swift intervention of the police, the hoodlums could have attacked the senator. The hoodlums exchange fire with the police,” one of the eyewitnesses said.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) senator was later whisked away by the police from the venue.
