Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila delighted his constituents on Thursday by dancing to the song of the moment ‘Buga’ by Kizz Daniel featuring Tekno.

Gbajabiamila was recorded dancing to the song at a meeting with his constituents in Surulere.

In the video, Gbajabiamila encouraged those in attendance to vote in the upcoming elections, telling them to show their permanent voter card.

“Operation show your PVC la wa yi,’’ he said in Yoruba, meaning “We are in the time of showing your PVC.”

However, the video has generated diverse reactions on social media.

While his critics say the dance was unnecessary, linking it to his enrolment at Harvard while public tertiary schools are shut in Nigeria, Gbajabiamila’s supporters say he is preaching grassroots politics.

The ‘Buga’ song is the darling of many within and outside the country. President George Weah of Liberia has been seen severally dancing to it in public spaces.
