Former governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose has paid a visit to national leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu at the latter’s Bourdillon residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Mr Fayose’s visit to Tinubu on Tuesday, October 12 came despite the fact that they belong to different political parties. Fayose is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Tinubu returned to Nigeria on October 8 after more than three months away in the United Kingdom following knee surgery and physiotherapy.

Fayose said in a Facebook post that “health issues know no political party,” adding that in this part of the world people prefer to sign condolence registers than “celebrate people when they are alive.”

“Most importantly, politics should be about love for each other. Therefore, like other leaders in Nigeria, I wish Asiwaju sound and robust health. And to those negative political analysts, this visit notwithstanding, I remain an unrepentant PDP leader and key stakeholder,” Fayose wrote.

Meanwhile, Tinubu was hosted to his first outing on October 10 since his return from the UK.

The event was attended by all elected officeholders and political appointees in Lagos.

Speaking at the event, Tinubu said what God expects from anyone he gives power is that such a person would use it for humanity.

He said that the prayer event was an emotional one for him and that all prayers showered on him are taken as valuable compliments.

”I am a little emotional now but I am happy. God is the giver of life and the only one who can take life.

”And he (God) says ‘If I grant you power and the privilege in this life; I am the only one who can take it from you if you don’t use it in the way and manner that promotes humanity,’” he said.

Tinubu is reportedly considering a presidential bid in 2023.
