Nollywood stars, Faithia Balogun, Toyin Abraham and others, have celebrated actor and director, Antar Laniyan, on his birthday.
They all shared their messages on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Happy Birthday my daddy. A great icon and a true legend. You are one of the wonderful people that taught me what I know today…,” Faithia wrote.
Toyin captioned her post, “Happy daddy @antarthywill.”
Others who shared birthday wishes for the Oshogbo-born actor include Odunlade Adekola, Lizzy and Ayo Adesanya.
Odunlade captioned his post, “Happy birthday to our great Antar @antarthywill God will bless you more in Jesus. Enjoy your day sir.”
Lizzy Anjorin wrote, “Happy birthday sir @antarthywill …This uncle Atar henn? If I see person that his heart is pure to younger ones that are doing well like him, I will tell you…”
And Ayo Adesanya wrote, “Happy birthday to my wonderful on screen husby ….the legendary @antarthywill …May the good Lord bless you over and over …enjoy your day.”
Antar began acting professionally in 1981 and his first major role was in the movie, Everybody want to know.
His other acting credits include Sango (1997), The Oap (2017) and Heartless (2020).
Actor, Olaniyi Afonja, popularly known as Sanyeri, had earlier in his tribute revealed that Antar directed his breakout movie, Opa Kan, for free.
“This day reminds me of when I came to you seeking for you to direct my movie Opa Kan without me having a means of paying you…You promised to help me and you did…To God be the glory that movie Opa Kan brought me to the limelight. Today, I want you to know that you’ve always been an inspiration to us. …,” he wrote on Instagram.
