Actress Eniola Badmus has called for peace and mutual respect following her public clash with colleague Laide Bakare at the premiere of Owambe Thieves, a film by Eniola Ajao, held on Sunday.

Drama unfolded on the red carpet when Eniola bluntly refused to take a photo with Laide, reportedly stating, “We are not friends.”

The snub led to a heated exchange between the two actresses, drawing attention from onlookers and stirring tension at the star-studded event.

Following the incident, Laide took to Instagram on Monday, accusing Eniola of triggering her.

She went live on the platform, hurling insults and making claims about Eniola’s rise in Nollywood.

According to Laide, she gave Eniola a chance when others refused to feature her due to her appearance.

Amid the controversy, Eniola chose a more diplomatic route on Tuesday, sharing photos of herself on Instagram alongside a lengthy message that appeared to address the fallout without calling names.

“Life has a way of teaching us that true strength lies not in conflict, but in unity. Though we may have walked different paths and faced moments of tension, I believe it’s time to let love lead,” she wrote.

“There is no need for jealousy when we can all succeed. Your success does not diminish mine, just as mine does not take away from yours.

“Let us continue to collaborate, to lift each other, and to build something greater than what we could ever achieve alone. There’s strength in unity and a future brighter than any victory we’ve pursued alone.”

She ended with a call for wisdom and peace: “Let us avoid conflict, not because we are weak, but because we are wise. Peace is the path to progress, and love is the light that shows us the way. Here’s to better days, guided by understanding, shared goals, and mutual respect.”

As of press time, Laide had not responded directly to Eniola’s post.
