Don Brymo wouldn’t have died if movie producers on set were proactive – Emeka Rollas

Emeka Rollas Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN president

The national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas has stated that the late Don Brymo would still be alive if the movie producers he was filming for were proactive.

Mr Rollas disclosed this in a recent interview with QEDNG in which he detailed how the actor died.

According to the AGN president, Don Brymo came to a movie set in Port Harcourt looking visibly sick and insisted on filming even after his colleague Joyce Kalu suggested that he should be taken to the hospital but the movie producer did not listen.

Emeka said it this possible that Don Brymo insisted on filming because he was worried about refunding the money he was paid to feature in the film.

The actor made this known while explaining how the death of another actor Saint Obi whom he said wouldn’t have died if he had reached out to AGN, affected the guild.

He said: “And I’m sure that if Saint Obi also had reached out to us, probably, he would not have died, it was shortly during that time that we lost Don Brymo, the one that died at a location in Port Harcourt.

“The day he came to shoot, he was looking visibly sick, his colleague Joyce Kalu insisted that this man be taken to hospital before any shoot but the producers didn’t listen and after some time even Don Brymo himself said lets go and shoot. He probably was scared of refunding money that he had been paid.”

“And then while there were shooting, about 4 pm, he became visible shaken, missing steps, the same Joyce Kalu said ‘I will not continue this shoot until this man is taken to the hospital, instead of the producers taking him to the hospital, they brought him to the hotel, dropped him there. The man went up to his room, and ordered for food at about 8 pm; before the person whom he ordered food from came back, he had collapsed on the floor of his room, It was the hotel that rushed him to the hospital that day.

“And he didn’t die that day, he died when he got home, because the next day, Joyce Kalu left the hotel, went to stay with him in the hospital, spoke with the wife and everything. But you see if we had a proactive producer, he wouldn’t have died.
