Desmond Elliot marks 50 with stylish photos, outpouring of tributes from colleagues

Actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has clocked 50, celebrating the milestone with stylish photos and heartfelt messages from colleagues.

Sharing a video clip featuring pictures on Instagram on Tuesday, the lawmaker exuded youthfulness in various outfits, from custom-made traditional attire to Western ensembles.

Expressing gratitude, he wrote, “Thank you Lord, Thank you Jesus. Yep, that time of the year… but this time, it’s different. I’m so grateful, Lord.

“You’ve protected me through the storms, brought awesome people my way, and made the path, though crooked, smooth.

“Thank you for family, loved ones, work, politics, films… life. Thank you for this land, your land, and counting me worthy to be here. To you all who celebrate with me, may God’s favor upon your life surpass your expectations. God bless you and… MUAH.”

He also shared videos of fellow actors, including Segun Arinze, Zack Orji, Joke Silva and Richard Mofe-Damijo, sending him birthday wishes, as well as clips of his children celebrating him individually.

Some of his colleagues also flooded the comment section with goodwill messages.

Desmond Elliot gained prominence in Nollywood in the early 2000s, starring in numerous romance and drama films before transitioning into directing and producing.

In 2015, he ventured into politics and was elected to the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Surulere Constituency.

He secured re-election in 2019 and 2023, with his political career receiving both support and criticism.
