Dele Momodu, Davido publicly reconcile at Ovation Carol

Dele Momodu and Davido reconcile

Ovation International magazine publisher, Dele Momodu, and singer, Davido, on Sunday kissed and made up two years after a messy public spat between the two.

The reconciliation took place on stage during the Ovation Red Carol held at the Eko Convention Centre located inside the Eko Hotel and Suites.

“True reconciliation, great joy… God bless Davido… God bless Dr Adedeji Adeleke for his uncommon maturity… God bless the Momodu family for that simple heart… We are a family,” the excited publisher wrote in posts he made on social media early Monday morning.

The social media feud between Davido and Momodu dates back to December 2015 after the pop star was accused of attempting to smuggle his daughter, Imade, to Dubai.

Imade is the fruit of the dalliance between Davido and Momodu’s niece, Sophia.

Sophia, who said she was denied access to her daughter, later petitioned the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), accusing Davido of child trafficking.

Davido, on the other hand, alleged that he wanted to take the child for medical check in a Dubai hospital because Sophia had exposed her to narcotic substances.

Momodu took sides with his niece and was brutally trolled by Davido online and in the songs ‘Osinachi’ (Remix) by Humblesmith and ‘Bahd Baddo Baddest’ by Falz both of which featured him as guest artiste.

While the young man carried on with his antics, the publisher hinted at reconciliation in an Instagram post in January 2016.

Sophia has since softened her stance against Davido in the interest of their daughter and what they had together in the past.

Sunday’s public show of love was a final act in the reconciliation between the Momodu and Adeleke families.
