Afrobeats superstar Davido has made a statement at the FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert in Los Angeles, where he wore a customised jacket bearing the names of pupils and teachers abducted in Oyo State.
The back of the jacket carried the message, “BRING THEM HOME.”
The gesture drew attention to the 39 pupils and seven teachers abducted from Oriire Local Government Area on May 15.
The names of the victims were displayed on the jacket as Davido prepared to perform at the global event.
The abduction has continued to spark concern across Nigeria, with calls for urgent action to secure the release of those still in captivity.
Davido’s appearance used the international stage to highlight the situation of the victims and draw wider attention to the incident involving schoolchildren and teachers taken in the attack.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, and will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico across 16 cities, with 48 teams taking part.
