Davido reacts to withdrawal of exam malpractice charges against uncle, Senator Adeleke

Singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the news that his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been cleared of the charges of exam malpractice levelled against him by the police.

The 27-year-old expressed his relief on Twitter on Friday.

“To God be the glory @IsiakaAdeleke1,” he wrote.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had earlier discharged the senator, was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State in the 2018 election, in the trial involving him and four others.

The Judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, expalined that he was discharged due to the prosecution’s decision to withdraw the charges against him.

Ekwo, however, announced that the trial of the four other defendants, will go ahead.

The four defendants are Sikiru Adeleke, who is said to be the senator’s relative, Aregbesola Mufutau, a headteacher; Gbadamosi Ojo, registrar; and Dare Olutope, a teacher.

Sikiru is accused of fraudulently registering as a student of Ojo-Aro Community Grammar School, Ojo-Aro, Osun State, to enable him sit for the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination of June/July 2017.

The other three defendants are accused of aiding the commission of the alleged offence.
