Dangote’s brother buried in Kano

The remains of Sani Dangote, the younger brother of Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, has been laid to rest in Kano State.

Mr Sani’s corpse arrived in Nigeria on Wednesday from the United States following delay in documentation. The family had planned to have the body in Kano on Tuesday.

Sani, who was the vice president of Dangote Group, died in the US on Sunday, November 14 after a brief illness.

Crowds gathered at the palace of the emir of Kano where the funeral prayer for late Sani took place.

Although he was not as popular as Dangote, Sani also had several business interests.

He was the chairman of Dansa Holdings, a subsidiary of the Dangote Group that produces beverages.

He also owned Dansa Foods Limited, Dansa Energy, Sagas Energy Limited, Bulk Pack Services Limited, Dansa Agro Allied Limited, and Dangote Farms Limited.

Sani, 61, had one wife and eight children.
