Dangote Group has denied a claim that the administration of Bola Tinubu earns revenue from every bag of cement sold in the country.

The claim was shared in a Facebook post and attributed to Aliko Dangote.

It alleged that the government takes a portion of the revenue from each bag of cement.

The company reacted on Wednesday by sharing a screenshot of the post on X and marking it “Fake.” It did not provide further details.

The response follows the spread of false information on social media, including the use of edited images and videos.

Meanwhile, Dangote has been named in the 2026 list of the world’s most influential people published by TIME Magazine.

The list, released on April 15, includes figures in politics, business, technology and culture.

Dangote is listed in the “Titans” category and is the only Nigerian on the 2026 list.

This is his second appearance on the list after he was first named in 2014.

TIME said he was recognised for his role in building industries in Africa through investments in cement, fertiliser, agriculture, energy and infrastructure.

Dangote is the founder and president of the Dangote Group, with operations in cement production, fertiliser, sugar and petroleum refining.

The list also includes Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, Benjamin Netanyahu, Mark Carney and Pope Leo XIV, as well as technology executives and figures in the entertainment industry.
